Continuing to raise rates would help bring inflation closer to the Fed’s 2% target — but could cost people their jobs. On the other hand, if interest rates aren’t high enough, elevated inflation could become ingrained and, therefore, harder to crack down on.

112年11月本國銀行家數38家，截至112年11月底止，本國銀行放款總餘額新臺幣(以下同)38兆2,302億元，較上月底增加872億元；逾期放款金額為588.66億元，較上月底減少29.68億元；逾期放款比率為0.15%，較上月減少0.01個百分點，與去年同期相同。
Due to softer-than-expected inflation and wage growth figures in December, economists now expect the Bank of England (BoE) to cut interest rates faster and further than previously anticipated. Economists predict between 100bps – 125bps of rate cuts from the BoE, starting in May or June, depending on the forecast house.
