【World Property Journal】Zombie Properties in U.S. Increase 15.3 Percent Annually in Late 2023

According to ATTOM's newly released fourth-quarter 2023 Vacant Property and Zombie Foreclosure Report, almost 1.3 million (1,294,505) residential properties in the United States are vacant. That figure represents 1.27 percent, or one in 78 homes, across the nation - virtually the same as in the third quarter of this year.

  • The average contract interest rate for 30-year fixed-rate mortgages with conforming loan balances ($726,200 or less) decreased to 7.86% from 7.90%

The Federal Reserve held interest rates steady Wednesday for the second consecutive meeting, leaving the central bank’s benchmark lending rate at its highest level in 22 years.Economists and financial markets had expected the pause in the Fed’s aggressive rate-hiking campaign, after several Fed officials signaled they anticipate a further slowing of the US economy as it continues to absorb the effects of higher borrowing costs.

【新北市地政局】新北市112年10月份房市交易移轉棟(戶)數減少2.4%

新北市政府地政局表示,112年10月房市交易移轉棟數共計5,955棟,較112年9月增加651棟,增加幅度12.3%。其中交易移轉棟(戶)數以淡水區、中和區、新店區增加較多,與112年9月相較分別增加320棟、191棟、172棟,分析原因係因本月份新成屋及中古屋移轉棟(戶)數均有增加所致。另以交易案件量來看,新北市112年10月交易件數為6,091件,較112年9月增加452件,增加幅度8%。

【Zillow】Sellers: Results from the Zillow Consumer Housing Trends Report 2023

  • A majority of dual seller-buyers (58%) said they sold first and then bought. About one in three (32%) said they bought first, and the remaining one in ten (10%) said they did both at or around the same time.
  • Managing to sell and buy at the same time is the exception for all age groups, but older seller-buyers were most likely to pull it off: About one in six (16%) in their 50s managed both at the same time, versus only 5% in their 30s and 7% in their 20s and younger.
