【CNBC】Wild swings in mortgage rates last week caused a rare surge in refinancing

  • The average contract interest rate for 30-year fixed-rate mortgages with conforming loan balances ($647,200 or less) increased to 5.47% from 5.43%.
  • Refinance applications rose 4% for the week but were 82% lower than the same week one year ago.

【樂居買房】中國央行:7月份住戶貸款增加1217億元,短期貸款減少269億元

8月12日,央行發布《2022年7月金融統計數據報告》。數據顯示,7月份人民幣貸款增加6790億元,同比少增4042億元。住戶貸款增加1217億元,其中,短期貸款減少269億元,中長期貸款增加1486億元。1-7月,人民幣貸款累計增加14.35萬億元,同比多增5150億元。

Mortgage rates increased last week, reversing direction after several weeks of declines.Comments from Federal Reserve members early in the week started moving interest rates higher, as they messaged that there is still much work to be done in taming inflation. Jobs data late in the week was much stronger than market expectations, a signal that the Federal Reserve will likely need to continue aggressive actions to slow economic growth and reign in inflationary pressures.
