Unpaid Federal Workers Now Owe $438 Million in Back Mortgage and Rent Payments
Since the start of the U.S. Government shutdown on December 21, 2018, all aspects of the federal housing, mortgage, and programs of the real estate industry have been impacted.

The U.K. housing market rebounded in December at the end of a weak fourth quarter.
Prices rose 1.3 percent in the three months through December compared with a year earlier, up from 0.3 percent in November, Halifax said Tuesday. The monthly change, which can be volatile, was a 2.2 percent gain to an average 229,729 pounds ($293,000), beating forecasts for a 0.5 percent increase.

信心最高的指標仍與前一季相同為「土地開發」，在本次調查中為120.75點，偏向樂觀，較前一季上升13.00點(2018Q3：107.75)；信心居次的指標為「辦公室」，在本次調查中為111.56點，偏向樂觀，較前一季上升4.58點(2018Q3：106.98)；信心居第三的指標為「經濟環境」，在本次調查為97.17點，較前一季調查結果上升6.18點(2018Q3：90.99)；信心居第四的指標為「店面」，是為調查中相對較保守之指標，在本次調查中為77.83點，較前一季上升12.71點(2018Q3：65.12)。
更新事業的推動最主要係將都市窳陋及防災功能不足的老舊建築加速改建，並對重大建設如快速道路、大型公園及捷運站等附近景觀和機能亟待改善地區，加強推動更新，以改善居住環境空間品質及城市景觀風貌。
民國87年11月11日中央公布都市更新條例，90年4月20日本府將原「臺北市都市更新實施辦法」修正公布為「臺北市都市更新自治條例」後續申請都市更新審議委員會審議之都市更新事業計畫464件，其中經本府核定實施360件；該等更新案中並獲得實施者捐贈社區活動中心、留設供公眾通行之人行步道及協助開闢計畫道路。
核定實施360件中，本處迄95年度底核定共計34件，96年18件，97年19件，98年19件，99年14件，100年16件，101年16件，102年39件， 103年 24件，104年35件，105年26件，106年52件，107年48件。後續本府將針對審議流程簡化、單一窗口作業、相關獎勵機制等探討，俾促進引導民間力量辦理都市更新。
