【Zillow】April 2026 Jobs Report: Stabilizing, Not Accelerating

The U.S. economy added 115,000 nonfarm payroll jobs in April, and the unemployment rate held at 4.3%. Payrolls are still growing, unemployment remains low, and hours ticked up slightly — but hiring is slow and uneven. Total nonfarm payroll employment shows little net change over the prior 12 months.
