- 4.80 million existing homes were sold in August (SAAR), down 0.4% from July and down 19.9% from August 2021, according to the National Association of Realtors (NAR).
- Total housing inventory at the end of August amounted to 1,280,000 units, NAR said, down 1.5% from July and unchanged from one year ago.
- The median existing-home price for all housing types in August was $389,500, up 7.7% from August 2021.
